Dermal Fillers
Non-surgical nose reshaping
Filler can camouflage a dorsal hump, lift a drooping tip, or straighten a nose that looks deviated. It cannot make a nose smaller, and in most cases it makes it very slightly larger while making it look better proportioned.
It is also the highest-risk injectable treatment on the face. The blood supply to the nose is limited, the vessels are close to the surface, and they connect to the vessels that supply the eye. Done badly, this treatment causes skin necrosis and, rarely, blindness.
We offer it. We also refuse it more often than we perform it.
How we manage the risk
Treatment is carried out slowly, in small volumes, using a cannula in the appropriate planes, with aspiration where a needle is used. Hyaluronidase is held on site along with a written vascular occlusion protocol.
You will be given a direct contact number and specific instructions about what to look for in the first 24 hours — blanching, disproportionate pain, or any visual change — and told to call immediately if you notice any of them, at any hour.
What to expect
Twelve to eighteen months. The result is visible immediately with minimal swelling, which makes this one of the few treatments where day-one appearance is close to the final one.
What it costs
From £200. The consultation is separate and does not commit you to treatment.
Common questions
Is non-surgical nose reshaping safe?
It is the highest-risk injectable treatment on the face. The nose has a limited blood supply, the vessels sit close to the surface, and they connect with those supplying the eye. Done badly it causes skin loss and, rarely, blindness. Done carefully by someone with the right training and emergency provision, it is a reasonable treatment for a narrow group of patients.
Can it make my nose smaller?
No. Filler adds volume. It can make a nose look straighter, more balanced and better proportioned, and it can lift a drooping tip — but it does not reduce size. If size is your concern, you want a surgeon.
Can I have it if I've had a rhinoplasty?
We will not treat a nose that has had surgery. Scar tissue changes the blood supply in ways that cannot be predicted, and the risk is not acceptable.
