Dermal Fillers
Cheek filler and mid-face contouring
The mid-face is where facial ageing starts and where most people notice it last. The cheek fat pads sit lower than they did, the area under the eye hollows, and the tissue that used to be supported from above starts to fold at the nose and mouth.
Treating the cheek is often the answer to a complaint about somewhere else entirely.
Who it suits
It suits people with flattening across the upper cheek, a shadow forming under the eye, or nose-to-mouth folds that have deepened without the skin itself changing much. It works particularly well alongside skin treatments rather than instead of them.
It does not suit people who want a defined, sculpted cheekbone that their bone structure will not support. Filler placed to create a shape the face cannot hold reads as filler, from across a room, forever.
How much you'll actually need
Most people need 2ml or more to see a meaningful change across both cheeks — often across two appointments rather than one.
Single-syringe cheek treatments are widely advertised and rarely do very much. We would rather tell you the real number at consultation than sell you one syringe now and another three months later.
What happens on the day
Assessment of the whole mid-face including under-eye and jawline.
Standardised photographs.
Agreed plan and volume.
Topical numbing.
Treatment using a cannula where appropriate, which reduces bruising and vascular risk.
Mirror check.
Written aftercare.
Two-week review included.
How long it lasts
Twelve to eighteen months in most cases. The mid-face moves less than the lips, so filler placed here lasts noticeably longer.
Expect swelling for three to five days and possible bruising, particularly if a needle rather than a cannula was used.
What it costs
From £160 per ml. Most treatment plans use 2ml or more. We will give you the full cost at consultation before you commit to anything.
Common questions
How much cheek filler will I need?
Most people need 2ml or more across both cheeks to see a meaningful change, often over two appointments rather than one. A single syringe rarely does much on its own, so you are given the real amount, and the full cost, at your consultation before you commit to anything.
How long does cheek filler last?
Twelve to eighteen months in most cases. The mid-face moves less than the lips, so filler placed there lasts noticeably longer than lip filler does.
Can cheek filler help with lines lower down my face?
Often, yes. With age the cheek fat pads sit lower, and the tissue they used to support starts to fold at the nose and mouth. Restoring the mid-face can soften those folds from above, which is why treating the cheek is so often the answer to a complaint about somewhere else.
Will I bruise after cheek filler?
Expect swelling for three to five days, and possibly bruising. A cannula is used where appropriate, which reduces bruising; it is more likely where a needle has been used.
Can you give me sharper cheekbones?
Only within what your bone structure will support. Filler placed to create a shape the face cannot hold reads as filler from across a room, so the aim is to restore what has flattened rather than build something that was never there.
Is there a review after treatment?
Yes. You are seen again two weeks after treatment to check the result, and the review is included in the price.
