Dermal Fillers

Jawline filler and definition

A defined jawline is mostly bone, and bone recedes with age. Filler placed along the jaw and at its angle restores the edge that has softened, and can lift the tissue that has started to hang over it.

About a third of the people we treat for this are men, which is worth saying because most aesthetics marketing acts as though they do not exist.

Who it suits

It suits early jowling, a jaw that has lost its angle, and a lower face that has become wider at the bottom than the top. It works best combined with chin projection — the jaw and chin are one structure and treating half of it rarely looks right.

It does not suit significant skin laxity, where filler adds weight to tissue that is already descending, or substantial submental fat, where the outline is obscured by volume that filler cannot cut through.

How much you'll need

2ml to 4ml is typical for a visible change across the whole jawline, and heavier male jaws often need more. We usually stage this across two appointments six to eight weeks apart, which lets us assess how the first phase settles before committing to the rest.

What happens on the day

Assessment including the chin and neck, standardised photographs, agreed staged plan, topical numbing, cannula treatment along the jaw body with needle placement at the angle, mirror check, written aftercare, two-week review.

What it costs

Priced at your consultation, depending on how much product you need. If treatment is staged over more than one appointment, you will be given the total before you start.

Common questions

How much jawline filler will I need?

2ml to 4ml is typical for a visible change across the whole jawline, and heavier male jaws often need more. It is usually staged across two appointments rather than done in one.

Why is jawline filler done over two appointments?

Staging lets us see how the first phase settles before committing to the rest. The two appointments are usually six to eight weeks apart.

Do you treat men?

Yes. About a third of the people we treat for jawline definition are men, and heavier male jaws often need more product to show a visible change.

Will jawline filler get rid of my jowls?

It can soften early jowling, by restoring the edge of the jaw and lifting the tissue that has started to hang over it. It does not suit significant skin laxity, where filler adds weight to tissue that is already descending, or a lot of fat under the chin, which hides an outline that filler cannot cut through.

Should I have my chin treated as well?

It usually works best that way. The jaw and chin are one structure, and treating half of it rarely looks right. Whether you need both is decided at your consultation.

How much does jawline filler cost?

It is priced at your consultation, depending on how much product you need. If treatment is staged over more than one appointment, you are given the total before you start.
